95. Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings
29569157I couldn’t tell where one author ended and the other began, it flowed that nicely. I feel like it did tell more than show at times, but I’m excited to see where this story heads.
Rating: 4/5 stars
Read: June 24-July 1, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29569157-zenith

96. The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey
16101128I kind of went into this blind besides knowing it was about aliens. Although it dragged towards the middle, I really enjoyed this.

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23513349-milk-and-honey

98. On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves
15505346This was fast paced, but I feel like it may have been too fast. I felt like somethings could have been bettered detailed.
Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 2-4, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15505346-on-the-island

99. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

Read: July 3-4, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8127.Anne_of_Green_Gables

100. Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls by Lynn Weingarten
18244970This book fell flat for me; I liked the premise, but it seemed like it was trying to tick off too many dramatic boxes.
Rating: 2/5 stars
Read: June 4-5, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18244970-suicide-notes-from-beautiful-girls

101. The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket
150037I read the sixth book in this series in May and figured it was time to see what these orphans would get to next. The change of plot caused this one to be my new favorite. I’m hoping the uphill climb remains in the second half of this series.
Rating: 5/5 stars
Read: July 5, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/150037.The_Vile_Village

104. City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
8755785I did it! I finally finished this series. After having finished Clockwork Princess, I feel like this book was kind of a let down and was a little too long; however it was a good end to this series.
Rating: 4/5 stars
Read: July 6-9, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8755785-city-of-heavenly-fire

105. Different Seasons by Stephen King
155987It took me a year to get to all of through this novella bind up. The first two stories, “Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption” and “Apt Pupil,” I read last year and would have gave five stars to each. The third novella, “The Body,” I gave three stars and the final novella, “Breathing Method,” I gave two stars. I find it interesting my least favorite, “Breathing Method,” of the bind-up is the only one that has not been adapted to a movie and that my favorite’s, “Apt Pupil,” movie adaptation  was on the cover of my edition.
Rating: averaged out to be 4/5 stars
Read: July 10, 2015-July 10, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/155987.Different_Seasons

106. The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
16069030I honestly really loved this book, but as my first response to finishing it Goodreads review said: Arin seemed way too typical broody ya character for me to give this five stars.

Read: July 9-10, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16069030-the-winner-s-curse

107. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
865I first read this book in 2009 so I figured I’d reread it this year. The writing was more magical the second time around and that’s saying something. This is a translated work and I found that I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything having not read this in it’s original language.
Rating: 4/5 stars
Read: July 10-11, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/865.The_Alchemist

108. Family by Micol Ostow
8715499Being in verse didn’t seem to add to the story and it ended up being this book’s downfall.
Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 6-12, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8715499-family

109. The Last Olympian by Rick Riordian
4556058 Percy Jackson is now completed boom! I wasn’t a fan of the obviously non-conclusive ending, but I’m hoping Heroes of Olympus is slightly more mature if that makes any sense.
Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 9-12, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4556058-the-last-olympian

110. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthrone

Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 12, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12296.The_Scarlet_Letter

111. Holes by Louis Sachar
38709This was another reread for me and I understand why it won the National Book Award. Am I the only one who thought the face on the cover was an earthworm at some point?

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/38709.Holes

114. Forever in Blue: the Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares 5453 I forgot that the only thing I truly loved when I first read this was the ending to this book because I felt like it was a great end to the series, but it’s no longer the ending and now I’m not sure how I feel about this book.
Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 14-17, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5453.Forever_in_Blue

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10592.Carrie

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22718724-ice-massacre

119. These Shallow Graves by Jennifer Donnelly
24187925I feel like this way longer than necessary and way more historical fiction than mystery despite the main plot being the mystery; if this was trimmed, it’d be a nicer balance of the two.
Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 20-21, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24187925-these-shallow-graves

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17237214-two-boys-kissing

122. Dangerous Girls by Abigial Haas
16074758This was super clever. I love when a book does flashbacks well and murder mysteries do just that. I did have one problem with the conclusion although it was very solid.
Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 22-23, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16074758-dangerous-girls

123. Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation by Bill Nye
22609791Who didn’t love Bill Nye the Science Guy growing up? I’m not the biggest science person in the world so this was a nice read; however, some of the tangents made this slightly harder to follow.

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22609791-undeniable

124. Lost in Wonderland by Nicky Peacock

Read: July 27, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23266647-ask-me-how-i-got-here

127. Out of Order by Casey Lawrence
25414982I have written a spoiler free review on this book after receiving an ecopy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review; however I will say that the ending felt not complete, but not worth an entire book for a sequel.
Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 27, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25414982-out-of-order

128. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17998474-after-the-woods

130. The Witches: Salem, 1692 by Stacy Schiff
24819449I feel like I didn’t learn as much as I was expecting and that it spent a lot of time going over the same facts instead of bring something new to the table
Rating: 3/5 stars
Read: July 24-29, 2016
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/24819449-the-witches

131. Young Stalin by Simon Sebag Montefiore
826564This felt very dry at sometimes, but it was surprising how much it is believed that Stalin being beaten as a child influenced his behaviors as an adult.

Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/826564.Young_Stalin
