Plot: The hook for this book is “Monsters, serial killers, and imaginary friends—being a Wonderlander can be murder…”
Overall: I was pleasantly surprised with this loose adaption of Alice in Wonderland. I liked it’s take on Alice in Wonderland how the character’s personalities were slightly drawn from it. I enjoyed how dark this book wasn’t afraid to get, specifically when we were still being introduced to the characters. That is, however, the only downside is that due to the duel perspective between Mouse and Shilo, one of the perspectives ends up falling short in the beginning although they do end up balancing out as it goes along, but Shilo’s introduction pales in comparison to Mouse’s.
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
